- The purpose of this Amendment to Solicitation 36C25720Q0004 is to post questions and answers. No more technical questions will be accepted in response to this solicitation. The closing date and time for submission of questions has expired. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain the same. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Biomedical Waste Removal Services for the VA North Texas Healthcare System Please provide clarity on collection and packaging: Will the generator (VA facility) be packaging waste for transport themselves? No, the generator collects the red or yellow bags in a holding room. In some area the generator puts them in a box but not packaged. Is there a packaging area where waste ready for transport is accumulated? Yes, there is an area where the waste are accumulated, however, they will not be shipment-ready. Does VA staff collect and package RMW for transport and disposal? VA employees collects the RMW but does not package them for transportation. Does this agreement expect the contractor to collect all waste from respective locations (i.e. individual rooms) in each facility? Or does VA complete this process? No. Please provide clarity on sharps containers: How many sharps containers are there at each location? Unknown. For outline buildings you might be looking at 10-15 for Bonham and Forth Worth and lesser in other areas. However, for Dallas VA, that number is much higher. What are the sizes and quantities of the sharps containers required at each location? Please note the government provides the sharp containers. What types of sharps are required?� 1-time use/disposable?� Reusable? Disposables SOW, page 1, REQUIREMENTS, bullet #2: Contractor shall provide carts for the storage and pickup of bio hazard bags and sharps in the location stated above. What carts are expected to be utilized? No cart, rather boxes. Are carts required for every location? There are boxes in off campus locations but in Dallas location we have 96 Gallon Totes where the bags are stored. How many carts are required in total? Unknown Are the carts for cardboard boxes and bags? No Carts Are the carts for reusable bins? No Carts Are carts the for reusable sharps containers? No Carts. Note the vendor can develop their storage strategy if necessary. SOW, page 2, REQUIREMENTS, last bullet point on second page Contractor shall provide each facility with computer print-out which indicates the time and date the contractor was at the facility, the name of the operator of the processor, the number of pounds medical waste processed in each batch located in to the processor and verification Per point #3 in Requirements bullet point #4 At minimum Contractor shall be TCEQ licensed. Will the facility (generator) follow TCEQ guidelines which state the generator must weigh their own medical waste? The contractor at this point represents the generator. That is what the government is paying you for. The COR is not present at the time of pick up so the contactor will weigh the medical waste and report it in a manifest. Is there a current contract for the work being solicited? (See responses below.) If so, please provide that awarded contract number or task order number (NOT the incumbent GSA contractor number). VA257-15-C-0095 Please provide the name of the incumbent contractor. ESTRATEGY CONSULTING LLC Please provide the annual contract amount. Is the level of effort being performed under the current contract fundamentally the same as what will be required to fulfill solicitation #36C25720Q0004? If not, please explain how the work will be different under this solicitation. How long does it take for the incumbent to perform the weekly service at the main locations? This information is not available. Is the incumbent using a subcontractor? This information is not available. � If so, is the incumbent using a non-similarly situated subcontractor that requires the contractor to adhere to the Limitations on Subcontracting? All offerors must adhere to the guidelines within the current solicitation.
