Description
The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to safely lift a UH-1N Huey helicopter (static display) of approximately 7500 lbs from a trailer (or current location) to be mounted as a static display on the concrete foundation in the required configuration. The crane and outriggers must not damage the asphalt, sidewalks or other existing conditions. Proper stabilization of the static display will be used during lift to prevent load from becoming unstable. Any welding will be performed by a certified American Welding Society craftsmen and certification documents shall be provided prior to site work. The contractor will manufacture a four-point pedestal through coordination with the base Civil Engineering Squadron to ensure that the aircraft can be mounted to the site already prepared. The mount will allow for the aircraft to be displayed in a 5 degree pitch down and 8 degree left bank onto the four points already in place at the mounting area. Finally, the contractor will ensure that the aircraft is mounted and secured safely (welded) to the pedestal as well as secure the rotor blades in a position so as not to interfere with any potential traffic on the pedestrian walkways and able to withstand winds up to 100 mph. It is the contractors responsibility to ensure proper permitting has been accomplished for field welding on JB Andrews prior to arrival on site. When work is complete the mounting area and surrounding work area will be cleaned appropriately.
