- INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT Agency: Government Accountability Office (GAO) GAO Unit: Science, Technology Assessment, and Analytics (STAA), Innovation Lab General Information: Contract Opportunity Type:� Special Notice Description: The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is issuing a sources sought to identify qualified providers for technical support in advanced analytics, cloud computing, and emerging technologies. GAO established the Innovation Lab in 2019 with the mandate to drive purposeful experimentations in data science and emerging technologies. Leveraging as-service capabilities, the Innovation Lab will advance GAO�s mission and enable our audit as well as operational teams make sense of hidden patterns, behaviors, and anomalies from proliferating volumes of data�with speed, at scale, and in depth. The Innovation Lab will apply user-centric designs to ideate, develop, incubate, iterate, and deploy prototypes under an agile framework to help GAO tackle evolving oversight challenges that cannot be fully addressed through conventional approaches alone. The Innovation Lab will hold an industry day on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at GAO Headquarters from 12:00pm - 4:00pm EST in the Staats Briefing Room (7th floor).�The purpose of the industry day is to articulate the mission of the Innovation Lab, current portfolio of work, operational infrastructure, and support needs. Participants will also have opportunities to ask questions. GAO is located at 441 G. Street NW, Washington, DC 20548 and is close to the Judiciary Square (Red Line) and Gallery Place (Red, Yellow and Green Line) metro stations. Because parking is very limited and expensive, taking the metro or ridesharing is your best option.�There are parking garages near the Capital One arena and there is one garage on 4th Street between G and H streets. Please allow sufficient time to go through the security checkpoint. The industry day will also be available as a webcast. Registration:� For those who are interested in attending this event, please register by submitting directly to InnovationLab@gao.gov and MadisonDY@gao.gov with the following information: Company name and address Attendee name(s) Attendee phone number; email address If the attendee(s) will attend in person or virtually Each company is limited to no more than 2 attendees. Registration is on a first-come-first serve basis and we encourage early registration because seating capacity is limited to 75 attendees�for this event.�The registration cut off will be Tuesday, March 10th, 2020. A detailed agenda will be sent to registered participants prior to the industry day.� We would like you to confirm your attendance no later than Thursday, March 12th, 2020 to ensure that your name gets placed on the security list and to reserve phone lines in advance. This will allow for a smoother check-in at security and access to the GAO building without an escort.
