Description

THIS IS A SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR INVITATION FOR OFFERORS TO SUBMIT BIDS. THIS NOTICE WILL BE POSTED FOR A MINIMUM OF 15 DAYS PRIOR TO POSTING OF THE SOLICITATION. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates the issuance of solicitation 15B41720B00000001 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled Replace Roofing Hospital & Education at FCI Milan, Michigan. � FCI Milan is located at 4000 Arkona Road, Milan, Michigan, IL 48160 The following brief synopsis does not include all of the work required to complete the project. The successful contractor will provide all labor, materials and equipment to replace approximately 36,647 square feet of EPDM roofing on the hospital/education complex. The current roofing material is fully adhered EPDM to fiberboard and the substrate is wood. The new roofing material will be fully adhered EPDM from an approved manufacturer with a minimum thickness of 0.060 inch (60 mil) and�black in color. The contractor will provide and install appropriate insulation based on geographic location and weather. The contractor will be responsible for a complete roof system. For more detailed specifications please consult the approved project specifications. The performance period for the project will be 159 calendar days from issuance of the notice to proceed.� Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $500,000 and $1,000,000.� (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range.� It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.) The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 238160 with a corresponding small business size standard of $16.5 million. This is a 100 percent Small Business Set-Aside. The solicitation will be available approximately on or about March 13, 2020. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the beta.sam.gov website. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be made available. The website provides download instruction.
