- Description
- This is a sources sought request only, not a solicitation announcement.� This is NOT a request for proposals or quotes and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) is conducting market research seeking replacement solution to the existing Helicopter Integrated Data Storage System (HIDS) currently on HH-60 and HH-65 platforms.� The current system provides the capability to record, store, and transfer audio, video, text, aircraft performance parameters, and navigation information.� Video sources include but are not limited to: hoist cam video, hand held video cameras, EO/IR imagery, and digital map and radar presentations.� Audio will be provided form the aircraft ICS system and will include internal and radio communications.� The current HIDS system provides the following functions and the replacement system will require similar functions. Storage of video files in MPEG-4 or later file format Store and support recall of data for event recreation and legal prosecution Clearly correlate latitude and longitude and mission time data with video suspected offenders Support in flight playback on aircraft and/or sensor display screens for analysis by flight crew Provide the capability to transmit selected sections of data over aircraft radios Provide playback data compatible with transfer using OTH-Gold or ICE program formats Proposed equipment must adhere to all applicable MIL-STDs or commercial Aviation standard equivalents (RTCA/DO-160E) When responding to this RFI, please include the following information: Provide a specification sheet and mounting requirements/layouts for any proposed HIDS solution.� This also can include a capabilities statement. Is the solution currently in production?� If not, when is the product planned for production? Please provide the details and terms of any standard warranty included with the product Is your product listed on General Services Administration (GSA) schedule? Is your firm a certified hub zone firm, woman-owned oroperated or certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned?� If so, indicated which apply Do you have other Government/military agencies using the product, and if so which agencies, POCs and contract numbers? What additional information would be needed from the USCG to better provide an answer to this RFI or any potential Request for Proposal (RFP) for this type of solution? Responses to this notice should include company name, address, telephone number, and point of contact (POC). After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the USCG still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published on the Contract Opportunities website.� Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not adequate response to any future solicitation announcements.� All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation in addition to responding to this source sough synopsis.� Responses to this sources sought synopsis are NOT a request to be added to a prospective offeror�s list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.� Email responses may be sent to Kathrine.R.Leach@uscg.mil.� Please indicate �Helicopter Integrated Data Storage System� in the subject line.
