This is changed from a minimum of 30 people. In addition, this amendment also answers vendor questions (attached). CYNTHIA J. GRYGIER Contracting Officer Page 3 of 3 36C24420Q0269 TEMPORARY PARKING AND SHUTTLE BUS SERVICES WILMINGTON VA MEDICAL CENTER VENDOR QUESTIONS Do you want shuttle services to make their rounds every 15 minutes during non-peak hours too? 8am-330pm. Or do you want the shuttles to rotate every 30 minutes or 45 minutes or 60 minutes during non-peak hours ? The shuttle bus needs to have a 15 minute departure from each stop during all hours of operation. Can the buses be different capacity than the 30-passenger buses that were specified? Can the buses be different than the 30-seat requirement, so long as minimum hourly capacities are achieved (see below Item 1a), and other requirements are met? According to the specification, there is a requirement for pickup at each stop every 15 min during the 12-hour operating period. So, at the main hospital entrance, assuming 30-seat buses, every 15 min, this calculates to a 120-passenger per hour capacity for this shuttle service overall. A minimum of a 28-seat requirement departing every 15 minutes is acceptable. Vendor must meet interval departure requirements in addition to capacities. Is the 120-passenger hourly capacity, as referenced in 1a above, required during the entire 12 hours of daily operation? Interval requirement of departure every 15 minutes is required throughout the 12 hour duration. It s anticipated that outside of the specified peak hours, the 30 passenger bus will not be required. Will buses be transporting employees or patients, or both? Employees. Will patients have uniform identification cards of some type? N/A If parking lots are necessary in multiple locations to achieve the 300-space total, how will patients or employees be directed from the hospital to the proper lot (with available spaces)? How will parking lot users know where the locations of all lots? Is there a signage requirement for this RFQ? It s anticipated employees will know the locations of the satellite lots and drive from home directly to the lots. Employees will be notified of lot locations via internal VA communications. A signage requirement is not included, but it should be clear where VA employees are permitted to park, or what spaces are off limits in a given lot. Can buses be parked in the lease lots overnight, until they start service in the morning? That is acceptable to VA, but should be discussed between Vendor and lot owner. VA is not responsible for the shuttle buses utilized for this contract. Do all shuttle buses require to be handicapped ADA accessible with a wheelchair strap or could we just provide 1 shuttle bus with wheelchair ADA access? The requirement for the shuttle buses to be equipped with a wheelchair lift as prescribed by the Americans with Disabilities Act is deleted. End of Document
