Description: Niobium Cavity Material for 650 MHz LB 5-Cell Cavity Fabrication. GENERAL Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL, Fermilab) designs and constructs superconducting particle accelerators. The specification�attached to this Notice�addresses Niobium-Titanium alloy for superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) cavities, which are a key component of particle accelerators. Components are fabricated from stock by machining or other metal-forming processes. Components are joined by electron-beam welding or TIG welding. Cavities are operated in a cryogenic vacuum environment, requiring pressure certifications and material traceability.�
