(iii)�� �The solicitation document, the incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2020-04 effective 15 JAN 2020. (iv)�� � The associated NAICS code is 424690 - Other Chemical and Allied Products Merchant Wholesalers, and the small business size standard is 100. �The acquisition is being conducted in accordance with the procedures of FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.� (v)�� �The Contractor Requirements are listed below: 1.0�� �PURCHASE ORDER TITLE Liquid Nitrogen to Autofill Freezer Storage Tanks 2.0�� �BACKGROUND Cryopreservation: Genetically modified mice contribute greatly to a better understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying normal physiology and disease. Generation of new mice is an expensive, time and labor consuming process. Maintenance of valuable mouse models, which are not in use, is also costly. Cryopreservation of embryos or sperm is a way of long-term storage of valuable genetic material. It is used to prevent loss of animals due to infection, disease, breeding failure, accidents, and reduce animal housing costs. Mouse lines can be preserved as frozen embryos or sperm. This procedure will allow for the preservation of genetically modified mice produced by NIDDK investigators. We will collect the embryos and sperm and freeze them in liquid nitrogen. Upon request, we will thaw the embryos and implant them into a mouse recipient or preform IVF with frozen sperm. 3.0�� �OBJECTIVE The object is to provide a long-term storage by cryopreservation of genetically modified mice. The liquid nitrogen must be replaced by autofill to keep embryos and sperm frozen. 4.0 �� �SALIENT / REQUIRED FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS The vendor will check levels of liquid nitrogen at both locations twice a week and will refill or replace the two 240-liter digital gauge cylinders on site. 5.0 � Task Areas:� 5.1 � � �Task Area 1 � Checking Liquid Nitrogen levels in Storage Tank twice a week and refill as needed in Bldg. 8AB210 5.2 � � �Task Area 2 - Checking Liquid Nitrogen levels in Storage Tank twice a week and refill as needed in Bldg. 14A cold storage room alcove 6.0 �� �PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BREAKDOWN The period of performance for this order is March 1, 2020- February 28, 2025; this is the base year + four option years. The payment breakdown for this service will be monthly. 7.0�� �INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE The Project Officer or the Project Officer Supervisor will perform inspection and acceptance of materials and services to be provided. Inspection and acceptance will be done AFTER All materials are unpacked, installed, and test run for operation. Receiving will be completed no later than 7 days following date of Delivery and does not constitute acceptance and Delivery. and DOES NOT Acceptance and Delivery will be complete once the signed packing slip is provided to the Vendor.� Inspection and acceptance will be performed at the place of installation �� National Institutes of Health, NIDDK, 9000 Rockville Pike, Maryland 20892.
