Description

This synopsis is�not an Invitation for Bids (IFB), Request for Proposals (RFP) or Request for Quotes (RFQ). This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice indicating that a solicitation for a competitive acquisition for the award of �one firm-fixed price contract is intended to be issued via https://Beta.SAM.gov�in the near future. The solicitation will not be issued less than 15 days from the date of this announcement. The specifications will be detailed in the solicitation once issued. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers�is seeking�a contractor to hydraulically move stockpiled dredge material (i.e. sand) from McMillan Island to the Buck Creek Placement Site. Both sites are Government-owned, and located in Upper Mississippi River Pool 10, north of Guttenberg, Iowa. McMillan Island is an island, without road access, located at UMRM 618.7. The site is loaded with dredged material from the main river channel. The Buck Creek site is an upland placement site, located approximately 2.2 miles downstream. There is an estimated 126,000 CY of material to be moved. Due to geographic and environmental conditions, unloading operations from McMillan Island to Buck Creek�are limited to hydraulic means only. Mechanical dredging is not allowed. The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990, with a Small Business Size Standard of $39,500,000.� It is anticipated that this solicitation will be issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and will be UNRESTRICTED (Full & Open Competition). No CD's or hard copies will be available. Offerors are responsible for checking https://beta.sam.gov for any update(s) to the Notice. The Government is not responsible for any loss of internet connectivity or for an offeror's inability to access the document posted at the referenced website. In order for a contractor to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must be fully registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).
