Description

NASA/HQ intends to enter into a sole source Purchase Order (PO) with Planet Labs Federal, Inc. for unique commercial satellite imagery in support of NASA�s Commercial Smallsat Data Acquisition Program requirement.� Planet Labs Federal owns a constellation of over 100 small satellites that offer passive optical multispectral sensors that contribute to NASA�s research and applied science activities.� NASA procured satellite imagery from Planet Labs Federal, Inc. on task orders under Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) 80HQTR18A0026 which was awarded as a part of the NASA Private-Sector Small Constellation Satellite Data Product Pilot Program.� This sole source purchase order will be a follow-on to the BPA that will continue acquisition of the small constellation satellite data products for NASA�s sustained scientific use and dissemination. The Government intends to use FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial items. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 4:00 pm EST on February 26, 2020.� Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.� A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based on responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
