- Q SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY: Healthcare Garment Management Program The New England Healthcare System herein referred as VA is one of 21 Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs) within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Services are provided through primary care supported by eight medical Joint Commission accredited medical centers. Services are being sought throughout the six New England states Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The purposes of this Sources Sought notice is for Market Research and to determine the availability of potential sources to provide the following required services and assist the Government in deciding in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR 19.502-2 (b) whether or not this procurement will be set aside for small business, for a small business program, unrestricted full and open competition, or other than full and open coemption. The VA anticipates the issuance of an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. This is a new requirement for services not historically procured. The VA requires that all services required to be provided by the vendor to ensure accountability for a highly specialized services that results in infection prevention through Healthcare Garment Management and Program oversight. This is a request for information only and no solicitation currently exists; therefore, DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION as there is no assurance that a solicitation will result. The needs vary by Medical Center to Medical Center in terms of Equipment and Operational needs but is anticipated that variations to meet national standards. The quantities of garments, equipment requirements, and pick-up schedules will vary from facility to facility and are not known. The contractor shall be required to provide all equipment, software, labor inventory, inspection and management of a Healthcare Garment Management Program (HGMP) to include but not limited to vending machines, proper stocking and replenishment of clean individually poly bagged healthcare garment separates in multiple sizes, proper segregation system for soiled healthcare garments, removal of soiled healthcare garments, inspect all garments to ensure every garment is professional in presentation to ensure there are no statins or tears in the healthcare garments, maintain and replace healthcare garments due to normal wear and tear as necessary at no cost to the VA. Ensure systems are in place for proper inventory control of healthcare garments, Inventory sizes and quantiles meet the needs of the VA and it s diverse employee population to include multiples size availability. In addition to the availability of healthcare garments in multiple sizes and styles, the contractor shall ensure that the process for the delivery of healthcare garments follows a quality control process for ensuring healthcare garments maintain national and international hygienic standards, healthcare garments can be traced through use of a bar coding or other accountability system, the system will only allow for dispensing and returning of healthcare garments by employees with specific ID recognition system.
