Description
Prototype Diode Pumped Eyesafe Laser Range Finder for Abrams FoV Request for Prototype Proposal Special Notice The Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS) intends to issue a Request for Prototype Proposals (RPP) for the Prototype Diode Pumped Eyesafe Laser Range Finder (ELRF) for Abrams Tank FoV program of record under the Ground Vehicle Systems Other Transaction Agreement (GVS OTA), W15QKN-17-9-1025-RPP18-9. The GVS OTA was awarded under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2371b, Section 815 of the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act, P.L 114-92. Laser Range Finder technology has advanced since the Abrams FoV were fielded. The introduction of Advanced Multi-Purpose (AMP) Round, which consolidates the functionally of several rounds into one, has increased the need for greater performance. Changes to the ELRF are required to exploit this performance. Improved cost, quality and reliability of the ELRF are additional goals. Under this prototype project, the Government is procuring the design, development, modification, fabrication, and test of seven (7) prototypes for improved Diode Pumped Eyesafe Laser Rangefinders on a Firm Fixed Price agreement. Three (3) prototypes for Contractor-run Testing and four (4) prototypes for Government vehicle-level testing The contractor shall also provide personnel, material, services, facilities, data deliverables and test data and management associated with this prototype project. Follow-on Production: In accordance with 10.U.S.C. 2371b(f), and upon a determination that this competitively awarded prototype project has been successfully completed, this prototype project may result in the award of a follow-on production contract or transaction without the use of competitive procedures. The anticipated follow-on production quantity is estimated at approximately 1,900 ELRF units. NOTE: This Special Notice is for informational purposes only. A prototype project will not be awarded in response to this announcement. The purpose of this announcement is to provide members of the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC), and industry in general, advanced notification of the Governments intent to release a RPP to the NAMC membership. The RPP will be issued to the NAMC's Administrative Agent, the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), who will then issue the request for proposals to the NAMC. For information on the NAMC and/or how to become a member, visit the following website: http://defensemobility.org/.
