- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. THIS NOTICE IS ISSUED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR INVITATION FOR OFFERORS TO SUBMIT BIDS. A SYNOPIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION MAY BE POSTED AT A LATER DATE WHICH WILL PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIDDERS TO RESPOND TO THIS OPPORTUNITY. Please only respond to this sources sought notice if you are interested in submitting a bid and capable of performing the work required to complete the project. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates the need for a firm-fixed-price contract for a project entitled Lobby Renovation & Gun Lockers at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) Chicago. The following brief synopsis does not include all of the work required to complete the project. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, tools, equipment and materials to construct a new Gun Locker Room, Armory and Mechanical Room along with a new Curtain Wall to increase the Front Lobby square footage. The major items of construction will include: Class B walls surrounding the new Gun Locker Room and Armory and in some cases a Class B ceiling/roof system; New doors, frames and hardware; Finishes including paining, floor sealer and base; New individual Gun Lockers installed in the Gun Locker Room along with a Pistol Unloading Station; Mechanical system comprising of an air handling� unit and associated piping and controls to condition the Lobby, Gun Locker Room and Armory; Modification of and installation of a new fire sprinkler piping and head; Fire alarm system modifications; Electrical system including power to mechanical equipment, lighting and convenience outlets; and Security stems shall include electrified door hardware, intercom system and cameras. The project is make repairs on three of the following type of boilers: The performance period for the project will be 489 calendar days from issuance of the notice to proceed.� Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.� (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range.� It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.) The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 236220 with a corresponding small business size standard of $39.5 million. Interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov. The BOP is seeking small business contractors for this project. Your business size metrics information entered in you SAM registration must be less than or equal to the small business size standard specified above. �Interested small business contractors are requested to respond to this notice by adding their names to the Interested Vendors List for this posting in beta.sam.gov (must be logged-in to your account). The synopsis of proposed contract action will include further instruction for responding to this opportunity.
