Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a service request to Phillips Corporation, 7392 Coca Cola Drive Ste. 200, Hanover, MD 21076-1937, (Cage Code: 3MPQ0) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement to establish a contract for repair service and spindle setup of one (1) GROB G550 5-Axis Universal Machining Center for a period of 30-60 days from the date of award. Repair service and spindle setup includes all necessary tools, equiptment, parts, shipping, travel, labor, and testing. The repair, spindle setup, and testing will occur on site at Fleet Readiness Center East, Cherry Point, NC. Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required service. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Phillips Corporation, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the machines.� THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
