Description
The Submarine Escape and Surface Survival Personnel Equipment (SESSPE) is an air inflated suit used by a submariner to both escape from a distressed submarine (DISSUB) at depths to 600 feet sea water (fsw), and to survive on the surface for a minimum of 24 hours under extreme sea state and weather conditions in an attached inflatable life raft until rescued. The SESSPE, which consists of the escape suit, an inner thermal protective garment (TPG), a single person life raft enclosed in vacuum packed outervalise, Is inflated from the submarine pressurized air system through a hood inflation system (HIS) pressure controllerand downstream stole charging valve (SCV) located in each escape trunk.
