Description
The purpose of this survey is to locate sources of supply that are capable of providing engineering services to support the development and production of thin-walled, investment casted aluminum housings for the United States (U.S.) Army, including the development of a complete technical data package and computer-aided design (CAD) & computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) technical data to the appropriate standards and tolerances documented in the current limited technical data for National Stock Numbers: 5999-01-537-1496, HOUSING, ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS 5999-01-537-1510, HOUSING, ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS In accordance with (IAW) MIL-STD-31000B, MIL-STD-1897, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers -Y14.5.1M. In addition to demonstration of CAD/CAM and casting capabilities the Government desires use of additive manufacturing be implemented to the greatest extent feasible.� The Government has full data rights to these items which will be made available according to associated International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) restrictions. Answering this Market Survey: The responses to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only. This is not a screening, information request, or request for proposal of any kind. The U.S. Government is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. Responses will not be returned. The Government will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing the response to the market survey. Therefore any cost associated with the market survey submission is solely at the interested vendor's expense.� The purpose of this market survey is to solicit statements of interest and capabilities from industry, including small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses and 8(a) certified firms. Potential vendors should provide information, data, or documentation, which show that they have previously produced CAD/CAM data, investment castings of aluminum components of military-grade and experience with and/or use of additive manufacturing. All proprietary and restricted information should be clearly marked. All information received in response to this Market Survey marked ""Proprietary"" will be protected and handled accordingly. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. MARKET SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE: Sources responding to this sources sought should submit their Capability Statement (no longer than 10 pages) and complete the following questions. If a question does not apply, please enter non-applicable (N/A). Additional information may be provided to support your technical capabilities of producing military grade cast aluminum components with similar complexity and functionality of the housing used for the Long Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3). Describe your company's experience in inspection, repair, and preparation for acceptance of equipment IAW internal processes used with parts of similar complexity and functionality of those used in the LRAS3 cast aluminum housing. Describe your company's experience in updating a technical data package. Describe your company's experience creating CAD/CAM model(s) from Adobe .pdf files. Does your company have experience with investment casting or managing the investment casting process? Provide examples and define experience. Does your company have experience with Additive Manufacturing? Provide examples and define experience. Describe your company's experience conducting Physical Configuration Audits as defined by MIL-HDBK-612A? Discuss your company's capability in meeting U.S. Government contracting delivery order schedules. Describe the level of expertise of your technicians have (e.g. certification required and specific training). Does your company meet the requirements needed to handle ITAR related items and materials, if so provide Contract Number, point of contact, e-mail address, phone number, and a brief description of your direct support of the effort?
