Description
The Regional Health Contracting Office-Atlantic intends to solicit and negotiate a multi-award unrestrictedf one-year Blanket Purchase Agreement for the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital to provide for advanced emergency care for life, limb, or eyesight situations that necessitate advanced veterinary care. Emergency operations for Military Working Animals (MWA, canine and equine) in the Military District of Washington and Regional Health Command Atlantic receive primary medical care and services through the Public Health Activity Fort Belvoir, Fort Belvoir and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall veterinary services branches. The veterinary services branches do not have the capabilities for advanced emergency care for life, limb, or eyesight situations that necessitate advanced veterinary care. For this reason, this BPA is necessary. Emergency Medical Service providers for MWA must provide advanced medicine, neurology, surgery, ophthalmology and critical care. These services including but not limited to: advanced diagnostics, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), fluoroscopy, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, arthroscopy, small animal and/or equine emergent and restorative soft tissue, ophthalmic, neurologic and orthopedic surgical procedures, advanced equine dentistry and endodontics, and 24 hour intensive care. The veterinary health provider shall be a veterinary doctor licensed with the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) and a licensed and certified Veterinarians (DVM).
