- Description
- This program is envisioned to be part of a Family of System that makes up the DoD Medical Simulation Enterprise (MSE). The POINTS system of systems (SoS) is a standardized, modular, and autonomously reconfigurable training platform. Multiple components make up sub-systems, which work together in order to make up the Operations System and the Support System. For the purpose of this RFI, the system under consideration is defined as the accumulation of requirements that are documented in below. These requirements are inclusive of potential training devices, environments, supporting equipment interface development, data repositories, communication and visualization of data. The POINTS System introduces a standardized point of injury and trauma training platform for the DOD, enabling basic medical skills training across the Force, and integration with the other DoD Medical Simulation Enterprise (MSE) programs. The POINTS System provides for common training sites, and global Point of Demand (POD) capability that is not currently available to the DOD, Components, and commanders at all levels. An initial global POD, LVCG training capability will be implemented with current Component-level fielded capabilities being connected and integrated. It delivers effective Joint Casualty Management training, by integrating a global POD training capability with physical training sites (with classroom and simulated tactical environments), to better prepare the Joint Warfighter for JCM at Point of Injury Role 1.
