Description
The IRS-Criminal Investigation (CI) is seeking a medical contractor to provide medical services for applicant and incumbent special agents (incumbents) across the United States, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. The Contractor will be required to evaluate applicants and student trainees to determine if they meet the TEA medical qualification standards. The Contractor will also conduct mandatory annual medical screenings of incumbents to determine if they continue to meet the TEA medical qualification standards, can safely carry out law enforcement duties, and participate in the Physical Fitness Program (PFP). The Contractor shall provide a Medical Review Officer (MRO) who is a medical doctor with experience in exercising perceptive judgment in applying agency medical standards. The MRO must also have experience in interpreting and evaluating exam results and other medical information in order to make medical clearance determinations for law enforcement personnel. This experience must include making medical clearance determinations for reported medical or psychological conditions, medications, or injuries, or when an incumbent returns to duty after recovering from a medical or psychological condition or injury. The MRO may make recommendations regarding fitness for duty examinations and/or Independent Medical Evaluations (IME) to determine if a condition or injury precludes safe performance of law enforcement duties. The Contractor will ensure incumbents and applicants receive the appropriate tests necessary to make medical determinations and report medical clearance results as required.
