- Description
- This Special Notice provides public notice required by FAR Subpart 5.201(b)(ii) for modification of contract number AG-0120-C-17-0007 (Appraisal Services for the Alaska Mental Health Trust Land Exchange Act) by $60,000. The contractor isHoran and Company. The original contract was awarded competitively using Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized in FAR 13.5 and was awarded for$681,740.00. The anticipated modification provides for additional services as follows: Modificationadds two (2) additional appraisal reports described as Phase 2A and Phase 2B. The requirement for these additional appraisal reports are directly related to a separate contract awarded for Phase 2 timber cruise work. Timber Cruise data is performed under a separate contract and used by the Appraiser in conducting analyses and producing required reports. The performance of the Phase 2 timber cruise work was delayed by approximately seven (7) months pending resolution of two (2) post award protests of the timber cruise contract. In order to comply with the timeline established in the Alaska Mental Health Trust Land Exchange Act, Forest Service personnel completed a portion of the timber cruise. This resulted in the need for two additional appraisal reports at a cost of $60,000.These additional appraisal reports werenot anticipated at the time contract number AG-0120-C-17-0007 was awarded. This modification does not change the contracts period of performance. The government intends to award this additional work to the incumbent contractor using the authority contained in FAR 13.106-1(b). Given the related appraisal work already being performed by the contractor, the contracting officer believes only one source is reasonably available to produce the required reports. Interested parties may contact the contracting officer or her designeeby email at denise.murphy@usda.gov or mari.meiners@usda.gov.
