Date: 11-19-2019To: NCO 15 MATOC HVAC AwardeesSubject: Market Research MemoProject: Emergency Repair to Sewer Line in Building 6Location: Kansas City VA Medical Center, 4801 E. Linwood Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64128This is for market research purposes only and not a solicitation or invitation to provide a proposal.Project Specifics: Contractor will supply all tools, equipment, labor, materials and supervision to make emergency repairs to the sewer line in the basement of Building 6 at the Kansas City VA Medical Center, located at 4801 East Linwood Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64128.Contractor will use an inspection camera or other appropriate means to locate the break in the existing sewer line. After the break has been located, the contractor will saw cut (wet saw) a trench in the existing concrete slab at the location of the break and then to the pit area. They will then excavate down to the damaged pipe and remove all sections of damaged piping.With the damaged pipe removed, a new section of schedule 40 PVC pipe will be installed and stubbed into the pit. The trench will then be back-filled with gravel or the dirt that was excavated. The dirt will be compacted using a plate compactor or other similar compacting equipment. Before the concrete is placed in the opening of the floor; each side of the cut concrete trench will have � rebar doweled into the concrete at intervals not to exceed 24 . The rebar will span to the other side of the trench. New concrete will then be placed in the trench and troweled to match the existing surface.Contractor will clean the sanitary tank in the floor of the warehouse as part of this project.Contractor will remove and discard all spoils and old materials using their own containers and equipment.Contractor employees will wear valid VA badges at all times while working on Medical Center property. Badging requires a once a year attendance in the safety and infection control training class. This class occurs at 7:00AM on Tuesday mornings in Building 6. Upon completion of the class, the attendees go to the 5th floor in Building 15 to get their flash badge.Contractor will follow all OSHA safety guidelines, to include appropriate shoring and confined space.Period of Performance: ASAP This is an emergency issue and POP will shortMagnitude: $25,000.00 to $100,000.00Fill in yes or no in the column below indicating your companies interest in bidding on Emergency Repair to Sewer Line in Building 6.Please provide a response by 2:00 pm CST, 11-21-2019 via email to David.Sterrett @va.gov .
