This Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not itself constitute a RFQ. Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts is seeking a demonstration of metal detection equipment that would be used to screen large numbers of visitors at public events. The metal detection equipment should have the ability to detect firearms, explosive devices, and other metal, and provide a visual and/or audible alarm in the event metal is detected. Equipment can be either electric-powered or battery-operated, but battery is preferred. The devices may be either walk-through or single pole variety. Equipment needs to operate indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Hand-held detection equipment such as wands would be required for secondary searches in the event metal is initially detected. The equipment should have the ability to adjust the metal detection sensitivity to reduce the number of false positives. If possible, smaller and lighter equipment that is portable and can be easily moved is preferred. Equipment should be DHS approved and/or in conformance with Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act (SAFETY Act)of 2002. Wolf Trap National Park is requesting vendors to attend the Industry Day to demonstrate the security equipment that may meet the park's needs on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Wolf Trap National Park, 1551 Trap Road, Vienna, VA 22182. Interested parties should contact Bophany Drakeford at Bophany_drakeford@nps.gov to provide notification of interest to attend Industry Day. The building and room location will be provided upon notification of interest. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this Sources Sought. The National Park Service will not pay for information and demonstration received in response to this Sources Sought.
