Description
RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE ARE DUE BY 11:59pm CENTRAL, WHICH SUPERSEDES THE 11:59pm EASTERN RESPONSE TIME SHOWN IN THE GENERAL INFORMATION SECTION ABOVE. As a reminder, the response time identified in the Solicitation Instruction to offerors is the final authority of when responses are due. _____________________________________________________________________ This is a market survey intended to assess market capabilities of fulfilling the requirements of the FFG(X) Interior Wireless Communications System. This is not a request for quotes/proposal.The IWCS shall provide user end-to-end communications within the ship and interfaces to other shipboard communication systems. The IWCS will include system cabinets, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), administration and maintenance manager station, radios, radio accessories, and interface circuitry necessary to meet the requirements defined and referenced below. The IWCS shall be assigned as Vital under the IC Importance Classification and the Mission Assurance Category (MAC) level for IWCS shall be assigned as MAC-1, Mission Critical. The IWCS shall be a highly reliable and survivable 148network with built-in redundancy to eliminate all single points of failure. This system shall be TimeDivision Multiple Access (TDMA) Project 25 (P25) Phase 2 compliant. The P25 endorses the TIA-102 suite of standards for the design and manufacture of interoperable digital two-way wireless communications products for mission critical operations. P25 has worldwide acceptance for critical publicsafety and service communications. The Common-Air-Interface (CAI) is one of the most widely deployed P25 interfaces enabling interoperable communications between P25 radios and P25 infrastructureregardless of the manufacturer. The P25 Phase 2 TDMA trunked suite of standards adds TDMA voice service to the existing P25 Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) trunked voice and packet data services previously defined in P25 Phase 1. This P25 Phase 2 TDMA system shall use the P25 Phase 1 FDMA control channel for both FDMA and TDMA call requests. This allows the system to support P25 Phase 1 calls as well as P25 Phase 2 calls. The P25 Phase 2 TDMA trunked operation shall meet therequirement for 6.25 kHz channel equivalence mode in the 380.0-399.9 MHz range. It shall utilize (transmit/receive over) a coaxial Radiating Transmission Line (RTL) for wireless coverage (the RTL equipment or design is NOT part of these requirements).
