- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 15 intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c) (1) FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and Compelling, to American Surgical Instrument Repair, LLC.The contractor shall provide surgical instrument repair, to include all replacements parts, labor, travel expenses, tools, and other incidentals necessary to maintain or restore the listed equipment categories to operating specifications which meet or exceed the manufacturer s specifications. Any and all parts used must be new or factory rebuilt for that model and type of device. In-house biomedical Engineering or designee will collect all devices needing service and verify contract coverage. The contractor will be on station, in VA Medical Center Kansas City, one (1), (8) eight-hour business day per week. This day will be coordinated with Biomedical Engineering and shall be the same day of the week throughout the term of this contract.The place of performance is for the Kansas City VA Medical Center located at 4801 Linwood BLVD, Kansas City, MO 64128. The NAICS code is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance with a size standard of $22 Million. This action will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract with a base period of performance of 3 months with one 3-month option. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations; interested parties may express their interest by providing a capabilities statement NLT November 25 November 2019. The capabilities statement must provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate the capability of the party to provide the required services. A determination not to compete this proposed contract upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered.When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to Announcement, Notice of Intent. If after November 25, 2019 no viable responses have been received in response to this announcement, Department of Veterans Affairs shall negotiate solely with the Cooper Atkins Corporation.This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive quotes. There will be no solicitation available for competitive quotes. Phone calls will not be accepted.
