Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract to BIRNS Oceanographic, Inc. (CAGE 58608), 1720 Fiske Place, Oxnard CA 93033-1863. This effort will provide technical support and installation of seven (7) BIRNS 3T-connectors at the South Florida Ocean Measurement Facility (SFOMF).Efforts to be provided under this contract are for non-personal services of a highly technical and specialized nature. BIRNS will provide three (3) operators with skills and capabilities to install the required BIRNS 3T-connectors to bulkheads that will be installed at SFOMF. BIRNS is the original equipment manufacturer for all undersea connectors on the systems at the Acoustics Observatory (AO) range.The proposed contract action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). A determination by the Government not to compete the requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the decision of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
