Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement; a market survey for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Fort Worth District has been tasked to solicit for and award a project to construct a new, two-lane bridge with a tank trail that replaces the existing, bridge (BVM22) located at Clear Creek and Turkey Run Road. Fort Hood, TX. Proposed project will be a competitive, firm- fixed price, Design-Build contract. The government intends to issue a solicitation; however, the results and analysis of the market research will finalize the determination of procurement method. The type of set-aside decision if any, will depend upon the capabilities of the responses to this synopsis.PROJECT:Construct a new two-lane bridge with a tank trail at Clear Creek and Turkey Run Road to replace the existing, failing bridge. Load capacity of approximately 150 Tons will be provided. Project includes the bridge, tank trails, removal of the existing bridge, and associated approach roads. Supporting facilities include site development, electric utilities, curbing, erosion control and traffic management devices. As a horizontal construction project, no provisions are needed for; heating/cooling, electronic security or communication devices. Measures in accordance with the Department of Defense (DoD) Minimum Antiterrorism for Buildings standards will be provided. Sustainability/Energy measures and low impact development will be incorporated into this project. There are no vertical structures to demolish; however, the existing bridge and abutments will be removed. Since this is an active river crossing that is subject to sudden flooding, all features will be above the 100-year flood level to prevent erosion and ensure safety of Soldiers. Facilities will be designed to a minimum life of 40 years in accordance with DoD's Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC 1-200-02) including energy efficiencies, building envelope and integrated building systems performance.SOURCES SOUGHT:Construction Experience on Similar Vehicular Bridge Projects:1. Similar Projects include highway or interstate highway construction, particularly those containing multi-lane bridges, overcrossings, or interchanges designed in accordance with TxDOT criteria.2. Design-Build Experience on Similar Vehicular Bridge Projects: Similar Projects include highway or interstate highway construction, particularly those containing multi-lane bridges, overcrossings, or interchanges designed in accordance with TxDOT criteria.3. Military Construction and Design Experience: Military Construction and Design experience is considered to be experience on those projects constructed on and for military installations but may include projects for other Federal, State, or Local Government agencies.4. Previous Experience as a Team: Extent to which members of the proposed team have worked together on previous projects as a team will be considered.
