Description
Draft Vicinity Map This solicitation and any resultant contract is a stewardship project in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of J.J. Res. 2 as enrolled), the Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277, sec. 347. The contract includes the following components: The Eleven Stewardship Project is an Integrated Resource Stewardship Contract (IRSC) and is located on the Dolores Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest encompassing the area indicated on the vicinity map. Road access into the area is Forest Service Road (FSR) 216 (off of FSR 506). The legal description of the project area is Section 36; Township 41 North; Range 17 West; Sections 2 and 3; Township 40 North; Range 17 West; New Mexico Principal Meridian, Dolores County, Colorado. Restoration objectives for the project area are summarized as follows: • Improve Forest Health - Provide growing space for healthy trees and reduce fuel loadings • Reintroduce Fire - Provide mechanical fuel treatments and preparatory work to manage the effects of the return of fire as a disturbance mechanism. • Reduce impacts and potential spread of Round Headed Bark Beetle current infestation. • Utilize Timber or other products - Provide wood resource to forest product industry. • Reduce populations of bark beetles and create insect resilient stands. A formal site is not anticipated for this project. Parties interested in visiting the site may do so following the directions above and using the attached vicinity map. Additional directions or access information may be obtained by written request to the Contracting Officer. The solicitation will be available on or about November 12, 2019. Offer due dates will be listed in the Solicitation.
