Description
The Government is issuing this Sources Sought Notice to determine a competitive basis. This is not a solicitation. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this survey. This questionnaire is for market research purposes only. Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this notice. Requirement The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District, anticipates soliciting a requirement for a firm fixed price construction contract to install two (2) GSU power transformers at the Barkly Power Plant, Kuttawa, KY. The principal components of the work to be performed include removal of the two (2) existing transformers and arresters, construction of two (2) concrete secondary containments and transformer foundations to grade, and installation of two (2) GSU transformers rated 161 kV GrdY/13.2 kV Delta, 37,500/75,000 kVA, Class ONAN/ONAF cooling, high-voltage arresters, high-voltage insulators, medium voltage tubular bus system, medium-voltage insulators, potential transformers, current transformers, and associated wiring. The work will also include draining oil potentially contaminated with PCBs from existing clean and dirty transformer oil tanks and removal of the transformer oil storage tanks. The anticipated period of performance is 12 months after date of award. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The anticipated NAICS code is 237130, Power and Communication Line and Related Structures Construction, with a small business size standard of $39.5 million in annual receipts. Survey The Government is issuing this notice to determine a competitive basis. This is not a solicitation and the items listed herein are subject to change or eliminated from the requirement. This questionnaire is for market research purposes only. Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this notice.
