Description
The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Service (FPS), is seeking sources capable of performing maintenance services on the American Science & Engineering Z-Portal Trucks and Cargo Inspection System located at the St. Elizabeth's Complex, Washington, D.C. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to get a better understanding of the commercial marketplace in relation to this type of service for market research purposes. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Quotation (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFP/RFQ in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any service whatsoever. Further, FPS is not at this time seeking quotations/proposals and will not accept unsolicited quotations/proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to the RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP/RFQ, if any is issued. Interested sources are directed to respond to this RFI and provide a capability statement detailing your ability to perform maintenance services on the Z-Portal Trucks and Cargo Inspection System. Responses are due no later than 3:00 p.m. ET on October 23, 2019. Responses or any questions regarding this RFI shall be sent to Karen Thorngren at karen.thorngren@fps.dhs.gov indicating the RFI number in the subject line. This RFI is only intended for the Government to identify sources in the commercial marketplace that can provide the needed maintenance to fulfill the Government's objectives. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding to the Government. The Government has not made a commitment to procure any of the RFI requirements discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
