Description

NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center San Diego (FLCSD) intends to negotiate and award on a sole source basis to Hawthorne Machinery Co.. The Government has a need for the cargo handling equipment maintenance. Hawthorne CAT is the CAT certified contractor for the County of San Diego. Hawthorne CAT provided a Sales and Service Agreement with Caterpillar, Inc. which lists Hawthorne CAT as the designated contractor for the San Diego area, effective 31 August 2007. The proposed contract action is for commercial services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all bids, proposals, or quotations received by the closing response date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. FOB Destination applies. In accordance with FAR 5.102(a) (6), the required justification and approval documentation is attached. This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice by 9:00 AM PST, 23 September 2019 via email to maya.maxies-clemons@navy.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government.
