- Description
- Equipment Inspection MOU - Example Application and Approval Process for Equipment Inspection MOU Synopsis of Region 6 Inspection Provider Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Synopsis of Region 6 Inspection Provider Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) The purpose of the MOU is to provide a general framework for a Provider to perform inspections of fire equipment/apparatus working under Virtual Incident Procurement (VIPR) Agreements. Under the terms of this MOU, members of the Pacific Northwest Wildfire Coordination Group (PNWCG) and the Provider propose to form a partnership whereby the Provider agrees to inspect fire equipment/apparatus owned by contractors working under the VIPR Agreements. PNWCG agrees to recognize the equipment inspections completed by the Provider if done in accordance to the terms and conditions of the MOU. This will provide the checks and balances necessary for PNWCG to recognize contractor provided fire equipment/apparatus meets the minimum standards provided under the VIPR Agreements. Providers will work directly with the owner/operators of the fire equipment to schedule inspections. The provider will cover all personal expenses to properly conduct inspections and collect payment for inspection service from the owner/operators of the fire equipment. Selected Providers will be required to attend a 1 day Inspection MOU Workshop that will be held prior to the 2020 fire season and will be notified of the exact date, time and location in advance of the workshop. MOU applications must be received by close of business October 7, 2019. Submit by email to SM.FS.fact@usda.gov or by mail to Redmond Air Center, Fire Contract Operations, 1740 S.E. Ochoco Way, Redmond, OR 97756. Providers will be notified of selection in writing prior to October 30, 2019. For additional information, please contact Katie Mergel, 541-504-7339 or Neil Austin at 541-504-7340 or via email at SM.FS.fact@usda.gov.
