Amendment 0001 Technical Plans Amendment 0001 Project: Barkley Lock Emergency Gate Rehabilitation SOLICITATION AMENDMENT 0001 The purpose oft his amendment is to: 1. Add Site Visit Minutes fromt eh Pre-Bid Site Visit held 29 August 2019. 2. Provide and update to the Technical Plans 3. Update DFARS 252.236-7001, Contract Drawings and Specifications and FAR 52.252-3. Alterations in Solicitation. All other terms and conditions remain the same. ******************************************************************* Solicitation Number: W912P519B0015 PURPOSE: The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) issues this Invitation for Bid (IFB) for a firm fixed price construction contract for Emergency Gate Rehabilitation at Barkley Lock, Grand Rivers, KY. This procurement will include base and option line items in the anticipated bid schedule. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The work involves rehabilitation of the existing Barkley Lock Emergency Gate. The rehabilitation work includes blasting and painting, weld inspection and repair, and minor structural repair work. The gate will be staged adjacent to the lock on government property where all work will be required to be performed at this location. The gate is comprised of two main structural components. One (1) component is a welded box truss that is approximately 110' long, 15 wide, and 15' tall. The other component is a vertically reinforced skin plate attached to the downstream side of the truss structure. The skin plate is approximately 110' long and 35' tall. The gate weighs approximately 250 tons. OPTIONS: The option line items will include, removing the truss rollers from the gate and replacing with self-lubricating versions, removing the idler sheaves from the slot and refurbishing, and replacing or refurbishing the grating across the top of the gate. Bidders have the opportunity to attend the scheduled site visit on Thursday, 29 August 2019 at 9:00am Central Time as posted in the solicitation. This project description is not intended to be all encompassing in the descriptions. NAICS AND SBA SIZE STANDARD: The NAICS code for this project is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, with a small business size standard of $36.5 million. SOLICITATION AND CONTRACT TYPE: It is anticipated that from this IFB Solicitation, the Government will award one firm fixed price construction contract to the company that provides the lowest priced bid who is found to be responsive and responsible. DISCLOSURE OF MAGNITUDE OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT: The disclosure of magnitude range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: The anticipated period of performance for the base line items is 375 calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP) and additional days may be added to the contract completion date if options are exercised. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Specific information pertaining to this procurement will be available in the solicitation.
