Description

Pursuant to 38 U.S.C 8127(b), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 21 (NCO 21) 150 Muir Road, Martinez, CA 94553-4668 intends to negotiate a sole source award for the procurement of the LOCalizer Reader and Kit/Wireless Breast Lesion Localization System with Hologic Inc., 35 Crosby Drive, Bedford, MA 01730-1411. Hologic, Inc. is the only company that uses RFID technology to localize breast lesions. This equipment will allow the marking of lesions days prior to surgery and enhance the scheduling availability of the radiologist and general surgeon. The reader is wireless, lightweight, mobile and is designed to function without interference. The Government contemplates awarding a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order. The intended procurement will be classified under North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334510. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses to this notice are requested by 4:00PM PST on 12 Sept 2019.
