The repair area was 1300 feet south of the intersection of Little Papillion Creek and Dodge Street near the Nebraska Furniture Mart warehouse. Part of the repair project consisted of increasing the channel capacity by installing two rows of sheetpile approximately offset 30 feet apart in the right bank of the channel. Resulting damage of two apartment parking lots and one business parking lot landward of the upper sheetpile wall occurred. The Arbor Creek and 78th Place Apartments parking lots will be removed and replaced with concrete, overexcavation is required for the subsurface and also for repair of a subsurface crack. The 78th Place Apartments will have an 18" diameter RCP drainage structure with area inlets installed beneath the new pavement. The drainage structure will require excavation of existing riprap and spalls at the new outlet and replaced with the same material. The One Safe Place business building parking lot has the option of being repaired with either concrete or asphalt pavements. Miscellaneous work involves welding of steel plates on the upper sheet pile wall and coating application, and mulching and seeding. Easements for work on the private properties has been obtained by the project sponsor.
