- Page 8 Amendment Page 1 Amendment SF-30 Amendment Work for this project consists of the fabrication and construction of a steel smokejumper let down tower, excavating and backfilling for footings, supplying and constructing reinforced concrete footings, stairs, hand railing system, etc. The let down tower is a simulator to allow a smokejumper to practice an emergency release from a parachute while hanging from an obstacle, such as a tree. The let down tower shall accommodate six (6) smokejumpers and six (6) spotters simultaneously. The enclosed Forest Service drawing is a conceptual layout. The awardee shall coordinate/provide the final design and construction drawing with/to the Forest Service technical representative. The preferred approach for this construction method is a pre-manufactured structure, shipped to the build site, then erected. At a minimum, the final tower structure design shall meet the Federal and State code requirements. PROJECT TIMEFRAMES Pre-Solicitation Period 08/14/2019-08/28/2019 (15 calendar days) Tentative Solicitation Period 08/29/2019-09/13/2019 (16 calendar days) Tentative Evaluation Period 09/16/2019-09/18/2019 (3 calendar days) Tentative Award 09/23/2019 RECOMMENDED DAYS FOR CONSTRUCTION Forty-Five (45) calendar days. RECOMMENDED COMPLETION DATE February 1, 2020 DISCLOSURE OF THE MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS (FAR 36.204) Between $100,000 and $250,000. BUSINESS SET-ASIDE REQUIREMENT 100% Small Business Set-Aside. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND REQUIREMENTS Performance and payment bonds will be required for this contract if the awarded contract value is $150,000.00 or greater. If the awarded contract is valued below $150,000.00, alternative payment protections will be required in the form of a performance bond or an irrevocable letter of credit.
