- This is a combined Synopsis-solicitation for the United States Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service, prepared in accordance with the format to Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this solicitation. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested and a written notice, will not be issued. Solicitation Number 973260 - is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses which are in effect through - FAR - Federal Acquisition Circular 2019-04 and -05. The above solicitation is reserved exclusively for small businesses with a small business size standard of 750 employees - for - NAICS - North American Industrial Classification code 332999. The following are the Minimum requirements for the Required Chicken Cages and accessories - Name of Unit: twenty-four Cage Brooder - siz tier Number of Units to Order - one six tier Brooder made of stainless steel with a solid welded construction frame. The cage floors and dividers must be stainless steel wire on one-half inch by one-half inch spacing framed by a solid stainless rod and must be easily removable through the end doors at each level. The doors must be fitted with watering troughs as this system utilizes manual watering rather than automatic. The unit must have three litter pans per tier. There must be a WATROD manufactured double-ended heater element in a solid stainless steel case with a one-half inch x one-half inch grid on each level. Each heating element must be controlled by a thermo-couple input, temperature controller with easy temperature setting and an accuracy of plus or minus two degrees. Each heating element must plug into the control panel mounted on the back-center of the Brooder and can be removed by unplugging each element. The control panel must lift off for easy cleaning. The feeders must be made of stainless steel and must be adjustable for different feed restrictions. The feeders must hang on the front of each cage; feeders and feed doors must be easily removable. The access doors into the brood must be clear polycarbonate and mounted on stainless steel hinges that swing out for easy access. The unit must have overall dimensions of seventy-eight point five inches Wide by twenty-nine inches depth by seventy-four point seventy-five inches High. Each level must be eleven inches height per tier. This unit must have twenty-four cages with five-hundred and forth-six square inches per cage. The brooder must utilize one-hundred and ten Volts and its temperature readout is in Fahrenheit. Name of Unit: Fifteen Cage Starter-Grower - through three tier Number of Units to Order equal three. The unit must have the configuration of three cages high by five cages wide. Each cage must be fourteen inches wide x eighteen inches Depth x eighteen inches high. The frame must be constructed of one inch stainless steel tubing. The cage floors, tops, and sides must be one inch x one inch stainless steel mesh. The fronts and backs must be point-one-five-six -stainless steel resistance welded. The doors must be single fold down doors, with a safety latch. An adjustable feed grill must be positioned below the door that can adjust to keep the birds contained while allowing access to feed. Each unit will have individual twenty-two gauge stainless steel litter pans to collect the waste and the size must be maximized to fit edge to edge, extended front to back as well. Each cage must have an individual litter pan. The casters must be four inches by one and one-quarter inch casters with all stainless steel hardware. The casters must have grease zerks and the front two wheels must have step brakes. Each unit must have individual twenty-two gauge stainless steel feeders fully welded with no leaks to be able to hold water. There must be thirty fronts, doors and feeders, waterers. The unit must NOT exceed these dimensions: seventy-nine inches wide by thirty-six inches Depth - including feeders by seventy-five inches high - including casters. Name of Unit: Twelve Cage Starter-Grower Number of Units to Order = Three The unit must have the configuration of three cages high by four cages wide. Each cage must be fourteen inches wide by eighteen inches diameter x eighteen inches high. The frame must be constructed of one inch stainless steel tubing. The cage floors, tops, and sides must be one inch x one inch stainless steel mesh. The fronts and backs must be.156 stainless steel resistance welded. The doors must be single fold down doors, with a safety latch. An adjustable feed grill must be positioned below the door that will adjust to keep the birds contained while allowing access to feed.
