- Special Notice Request for Information Only The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO20 is looking for certified SDVOSB/VOSB distributors of the following: Rodent Gait Analysis System. This is Brand Name or Equal to the Noldus Catwalk XT System. This request is for a Brand Name or Similar item, and must meet the following Salient Characteristics: The system: -must be a semi-automated rodent gait analysis system. -must consist of a high speed camera, computer, analytical software, glass plate walk way, a red light illuminated ceiling and escape chamber. -must use a backlight illumination system to define a rodent s body shape and orientation to inform movement patterns and correctly identify paws and paw identity (eg right front paw versus back left paw). -must have the ability to substitute or enclose the animals home cage in the escape box. -The system software must be able to track and record separate animals and separate trial for each animal in a user defined stratification. -must detect, measure and analyze the ambulatory movement of a rodent across the glass plate and provide summary statistics and individual statistics for each paw., both per run and in aggregate. -must be able to automatically set the optimal values for Camera Gain and Intensity Threshold based on lab conditions and animals. -must have a method of accommodating user-defined settings to increase the discrimination of automated tracking algorithms. -must have a method of paw classification. -must use software that can be installed on any computer and not require additional licensing or security keys. -must provide a manner of changing the pathway width to allow natural walking movements while dissuading less cardinal vectorial movement. -must have a method of automated toe-spread quantitation required to identify small differences in vectorial movement and dynamic weight management associated with the process of moving. -must have a method of analysis for Sciatic Functional Index, Peroneal Functional Index and Tibial Functional Index. -must have a method of automatic paw angle calculation and reporting. -must have a method of analyzing, reporting and presenting temporal relationships between paws and paw movement to establish patterns and changes in patterns associated with study conditions. This must include, but is not limited to, stride length, regularity index, base of support, stand and swing, and phase dispersions. -must have a manner and transparent methodology to accomplish analysis of individual paw prints that may inform weight and vectorial distribution of ambulatory patterns. -Data must be exportable in a variety of formats to include csv, xls (and derivatives). This is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 3 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis.
