Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to Dassault Systemes Solidworks Corp., 175 Wyman St., Waltham, MA 02451-1223, in accordance with FAR part 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). This procurement is being conducted under simplified acquisitions procedures in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13. OBJECTIVE/SCOPE The FDA requires a contractor to perform whole heart computations with a virtually implanted generic medical device using high-performance cloud computing to support the requirements of the Critical Path project. The current details of the project are provided in the Appendix A - Project Plan. The Critical Path Project Plan was developed under a Research Collaboration Agreement (RCA) in conjunction with Dassault Systemes Solidworks Corp. The objective is to obtain (1) a 1-year service agreement (with the option for an additional year) for the contractor to perform whole human heart computations with a virtually implanted generic medical device that shall be created as part of the project plan using high-performance cloud computing in accordance to the Critical Path Project Plan, (2) online access to the data, simulation and the database for registered users, and (3) web-based capabilities for viewing data and simulations.
