Description

The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, Maryland in support of the US Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) is issuing this notice of intent to procure items via Sole Source through the award of a Firm Fixed Price contract to Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC. The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.501) with Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC, One Carl Zeiss Drive, Thornwood, NY 10594. Under the contemplated award, Carl Zeiss Microscopy will provide a system upgrade to existing Zeiss SIGMA VP-40 Scanning Electron Microscope to include: PC Upgrade Kit (includes enhanced PC), Image Maths Software, 3D Surface Modeling, Image Stitching Kit, Stage Registration Software, Compatable system monitors, and Installation. Request for Information (RFI) W81XWH-19-0-2512 was posted on https://www.fbo.gov/ from 09 August 2019 to 13 August 2019 with no responses received. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement.The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 333314 with a size standard of 500 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Responsible, interested parties may identify their interest by submitting capability information by Friday,13 September 2019 at 5:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time in order to establish the ability of the responder to meet this requirement. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed contract based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the sole purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with preparing responses to this notification.
