- B.2 Description Document Item(s): Task chairs Quantity: 200 Warranty: The chair must have a 12-year limited warranty for users up to 325 lbs. Description: Furniture take-off should be based on specifications below. VBA Task Seating Technical Specification: Pre-approved suitable products include: Haworth Fern Task, Executive Chair Model Number 121-9640 This is a brand name or equal solicitation. If a product does not meet all the required specifications below, it will be deemed unacceptable. GENERAL Requirements for Task Chair: All product shall meet the Buy American Act and be TAA compliant. The chair must be fully assembled. Measurements / Adjustment Ranges: Overall chair size requirements: Minimum height: 43.5 Minimum Depth: 24.75", Minimum Width: 27" Minimum Seat Width: 19.25 Minimum Seat Depth Adjustment: 3 Minimum Arm Height Adjustment: 4 Minimum Arm Width Adjustment: 4.5 All measurements must be based off a BIFMA Certified Measuring Device (CMD). Dimensions based of an alternate measuring device will not be accepted. Arms: The chair shall have a minimum height adjustment of 4 and width adjustable arms of 4.5. Additional adjustments are acceptable. Arms shall be molded urethane with resilient surfaces that protect the arms and worksurfaces. Arm caps shall be offer in black and at least one other finish. Arm adjustments must be user adjustable with one hand. Seat: Seat pan shall have a gradual "waterfall" front edge and be flexible with upholstered foam and no hard edges. 5" Pneumatic Seat Height Adjustment Range Minimum 3" Seat Depth Adjustment Back: Chair back height from the seat shall be a minimum of 25" to insure proper upper back support. Mesh back shall be offered in a black finish. Chair back shall recline a minimum of 20 degrees from the upright position. Chair back must have a defined form of passive lumbar support or provide adjustable lumbar. Task chair is to have a fabric seat and mesh back. Frame & Base: The chair shall have a 5-star plastic base and offer, at an upcharge, an optional five-star polished aluminum base with polished uprights. Mechanism: The chair shall have a standard pneumatic seat height adjustment with a range of 5". A low-position pneumatic height adjustment shall be offered at no upcharge as an option to the standard pneumatic, with a minimum adjustment of 1" lower than the standard pneumatic height adjustment. The chair shall have synchronous tilt mechanism. Chair shall feature a side-mounted hand crank tilt tension adjustment. Automatized weight activated tension adjustment is not acceptable. Chair shall have back stop with a minimum of four (4) positions. Options at an upcharge or deduct must be available: A factory applied stain repellant for the seat fabric shall be available. Woodrow Wilson Ave. Jackson, MS 39216 Special Installation and Delivery Instructions: Current rules and regulations applicable to the premises, where the work shall be performed, shall apply to the contractor and its employees while working on the premises. These regulations include but are not limited to, escort during installation by VBA officials, presenting valid identification for entrance, smoking restriction and any safety procedures as outlined in the site regulations. The Offeror shall coordinate all deliveries and installation times with the VBA local contact. Installation Hours: 7:00 am 3:00 pm Monday Friday excluding holidays. Clean up and Disposal of Waste Material --. Prior to completion of the work, the offeror shall remove from the property, all shipping containers, packing, rubbish, unused materials, and other like material, belonging to the Offeror or used under the offeror s direction. Protect all warranties by immediately correcting all omissions, mistakes, or damage. Advance notice needs to be given to the VA to coordinate with the building manager to access to the site. Delivery will need to take place during normal business hours of 7 am - 3 pm unless coordinated with the local VA POC.
