- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a fixed-price contract on a sole source basis to The Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, Maine for humanized mice using the NSG background process. Other Vendors sell CD34+ mice, but the process uses the NOD background. Other known Vendors cannot sell the quantity required by the Government, which is 46 mice. The mice are being used in variola virus research and need to match previous mice utilized so that the current results obtained can be compared with previous research. Using mice with different background processes may affect adversely research results.
