Page 11 of 11 This is a Sources Sought Notice Only. The Department of Veteran s Affairs (VA) Financial Services Center (FSC) requires a contractor to come onsite to the Austin, Texas location and install OM4 armored cable between server rooms using the access floor with existing cable trays during normal business hours. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ)/Invitation for Bid (IFB)/Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFQ, IFB or RFP in the future. This notice does not commit the VA to contract for any supply or service. Further, the VA is not seeking quotes, bids or proposals at this time and will not accept unsolicited proposals in response to this Sources Sought notice. The VA will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice. Submittals will not be returned to the responder. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future RFQ or IFB or RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Governmentwide Point of Entry. It is the responsibility of potential offerors to monitor the Governmentwide Point of Entry for additional information pertaining to this requirement. If interested and capable of providing a quote for this requirement, please respond to Matthew Sanchez at matthew.sanchez2@va.gov with the following Provide a brief capabilities statement and unofficial pricing. This should be limited to no more than 3 pages. In response to this Sources Sought, please provide: Name of the firm, point of contact, phone number, email address, DUNS number, CAGE code, a statement regarding small business status (including small business type (s)/certifications(s) such as SDB, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.) and the corresponding NAICS code. Small businesses should also include information as to: The intent and ability to meet set-aside requirements for performance of this effort, if applicable. Information as to propose teaming arrangements, the percentage of work each is to perform and which PWS requirements are planned to be subcontracted, if applicable. Whether at least 50% of the cost of labor is planned to be expended for prime employees or employees of other eligible small business firms. This should also include the prime planned percentage and if under 50%, the names of the potential team members that may be used to fulfill the 50% requirement. 4. Please identify any contract vehicles you currently have for which this requirement may be within scope (eg GSA FSS, NASA SEWP, VETS GWAC, T4NG, etc) DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES The Department of Veteran s Affairs (VA) Financial Services Center (FSC) requires a contractor to come onsite to the Austin, Texas location and install OM4 armored cable between server rooms using the access floor with existing cable trays during normal business hours. PERFORMANCE PERIOD The period of performance (PoP) shall be 60 days from the date of award. Any work at the Government site shall not take place on Federal holidays or weekends unless directed by the Contracting Officer (CO). PLACE OF PERFORMANCE Tasks under this PWS shall be performed in VA facilities located in Austin, Texas. The address of the FSC location in Austin is 7600 Metropolis Drive, Building 5, Austin, Texas, 78774. Brand Name or equal requirement Brand name or equal Corning OM4 armored fiber cable is required. Please see below for the salient characteristics. Fiber Install The contractor shall install 12 strands of armored OM4 SC for multi-mode from Server Room 178 in Phase 1 to Room 134 in Phase 1. The contractor shall install 24 strands of armored OM4 SC for multi mode from Server Room 178 in Phase 1 to Server Room 335 In Phase 3. The contractor shall install 24 strands of armored OM4 SC for multi mode from Server Room 178 in Phase 1 to communications closet Room 205 in Phase 2. The contractor shall install 4 strands of armored OM4 from Server Room 178 in Phase 1 to Room 175 In Phase 3. The contractor shall install 4 strands of armored OM4 from Server Room 178 in Phase 1 to Management Support Division Room 120 In Phase 1. The contractor shall install corning fiber patch panels, and provide EMT pipe and accessories as needed. The contractor shall terminate each end of the fiber runs according to industry standards. The contractor shall perform bi-directional testing of the fiber cables, fusion splices and digitally label all of the equipment and cables. Building Plans are available if needed.
