Description
REMOVAL OF WOODEN FENCE AND REPLACE WITH PIPE RAIL FENCE TO PROVIDE SECURITY AND SAFETY AT JEFFERSON RIDGE LOOP 3 AT DIERKS LAKE Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, labor and supervision to remove existing wooden fence and install pipe safety rails and concrete to provide safety and security at Jefferson Ridge Loop 3 at Dierks Lake Project. Description/Scope of Work: Locations of pipe barrier are as follows: Map with LAT and Long included: 94.113894/34.151423,94.113561/34151445 1. Contractor shall remove approx. 130 feet of existing wooden fence and dispose of off of Govt property 2. Contractor shall install 2 inch OD schedule 40 thick wall steel pipe post plumb. 3. Posts will have 6 inch x 6 inch x ¼ thick steel plates welded to bottom and anchored in concrete with COE approved anchors on 2 sides of each post. Posts will be set at 10 ft intervals 4. Contractor shall install top rail at height of 38 inches and the midrail at 19 inches Welds shall be saddled and rails shall be installed with methods custom to the welding trade with welds that are complete, with good penetration and with no holes and ground down to assure there are no sharp or rough edges. 5. All Gates, Pipe Barriers and all metal associated with this job shall not have any sharp edges and shall be primed and painted to match existing brown paint (made for steel) at Dierks Lake. 6. All exposed ends of all pipe shall have a steel cap welded on to eliminate places for wasps and other insects and water to enter. 7. Contractor shall install 4 inch min thick concrete with fiber extending from existing concrete to back edge of retaining wall to east end of existing wooden fence. Concrete will also have a 10-12 inch footing along all edges. Area from electric conduit east to light pole will be filled with ¾ grey rock with fines. 8. Concrete shall be broom finished with ½ in slope towards retaining wall to prevent pooling. Contractor shall be responsible for repairing any honeycomb or pooling in concrete 9. Exact Location will be shown at pre-bid site visit. 10. All disturbed ground shall be raked down and debris removed and areas seeded with rye grass and spread hay on disturbed areas. Any debris or trash left as a result of this contract shall be disposed of off of Govt. Property. 11. Contractor shall be responsible for location of all underground utilities and if any are damaged contractor shall be responsible for repairing. 12. Contractor shall adhere to Corps of Engineers Safety Manual 385-1-1 A site visit at the Dierks Project Office will be scheduled for TBD 2019.
