Description
Project will demolish the following facilities; FRP-10 (Picnic Shelter), FRP-38 (Softball Field), FRP-39 (Softball Field), FRP-43 (Soccer Field), FRP-45 (Softball Field), FRP-46 (Senior League Baseball Field), FRP-49 (Grounds Equipment Storage / Office), unnamed timber framed pole barn, and all buildings associated with the Little League park including dugouts and concession stand. Project will consist of complete facility demolition, including the total removal of all foundations. Demolition will also include the demolition of all supplemental pavements, concrete slabs, and utility poles including all athletic field lighting poles. Demolition will include termination of all of the Buildings utilities (Sanitary, Water, Electrical, Telephone, etc). Buildings will be tested for the presence of asbestos and lead materials. All hazardous waste will be remediated from the buildings, as required, prior to the demolition of the building. Site restoration will include backfilling, grading, and seeding the disturbed sites. In addition, some clearing and grubbing will be accomplished to make way for a new gravel service road for access to existing and new electrical manholes. Service road will be 15 wide constructed of gravel with a 5 buffer zone of grass on each side of road. Service road will be utilized by demolition contractor to remove demolition debris from the site and will remain after the project is complete as the service road. Project also includes repairing and reconfiguring approximately 1,600 linear feet of fencing in the project area to maintain perimeter security of Naval Station Norfolk.
