- Description
- The Base Project is to construct a Low Exit Tower - Smokejumper Trainer consisting of Trolley Cable system and Raised Launch Platform. The Trolley Cable system consist of two steel columns, 8" x 8" x ¼", placed in concrete reinforced footings, column height extends 20 ft above the ground surface, column guy wire support cables, and a trolley cable connecting between the two steel columns. The separation distance between each column is 49 ft. The Raised Launch Platform consist of two (2) 14 ft x 10 ft platforms raised 4'-6" from the ground surface, one platform surrounding each column, an access ramp leading form the ground surface to the platform deck surface, and a railing encompassing each platform. The decking and hand rail material shall be of a composite type, and the platform structure shall be constructed from Pressure Treated #2 Lumber. There is no demolition involved in this project. The existing site conditions are fairly flat; little to no vegetation; underground condition are nature to the area and fairly undisturbed. All site conditions shall be verified by the contractor and a private utility locate will be required by the contractor to verify underground utilities.
