Description

NASA John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) intends to solicit TESCAN on a sole source basis for the purchase of S8000G variable pressure Gallium-source Focused Ion Beam Scanning Electron Microscope (FIB/SEM) with Oxford Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) and Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) detectors. TESCAN is located at 765 Commonwealth Drive Suite 101, Warrendale, PA 15086. KSC will conduct this acquisition pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1) and 13.501(2)(ii), Soliciting from a single source, which states, "[c]ontracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization)." The attached Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition explains the rationale. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (09-AUG-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
