- 99--NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: Nixsys, Inc. NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC), intends to award a single source contract to Nixsys, Inc., Irvine, CA. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center proposes to purchase, under single source, computer workstations to sustain and support of the IDS-4 system. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced to Nixsys, Inc based on the rationale that using another company ™s workstation for IDS-4 would require additional equipment conversions to work properly. This would result in increased maintenance costs to the customer, non-standardization of NAS equipment, and an unnecessary decrease in operational availability at the site while the additional maintenance tasks are performed. There are no known companies that can provide the FAA with a similar workstation that would work with IDS-4 system. This announcement is for informational purposes only and not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. This requirement will be awarded to Nixsys, Inc and is not available for full and open competition.
