- Referencing Fed Biz Opps - Special Notice Solicitation number 970845 - U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service, Intends to award a sole source procurement to the vendor - Grow Safe Systems, LTD. - who is the equipment manufacturer and sole service provider for all of the instrument parts, Hardware and software and is located at 151 Canada Olympic Road, Suite 300, Calgary, AB, T3B 6B7, Canada. USDA requires the hardware needed to upgrade USDA's existing 47 GrowSafe 6000 series feeding nodes to 8000 series nodes - including load bars, data cables, 8 DAQ panels, data hub, and related materials, as well as installation and testing of the new hardware. This requirement shall be solicitated on a unrestricted basis referencing NAICS - North American Industrial Claffication Industrial Classification Code 333111. The USDA, Animal Genomics and Improvement Laboratory - has 47 existing 6000-series GrowSafe feed monitoring bunks and accompanying software and hardware. The 6000-series system has reached the end of its service life, and it will be cost-prohibitive to contract for support of obsolete equipment. An upgrade to the 8000-series system will allow AGIL to meet its ongoing research commitments. GrowSafe Systems Ltd. is the only provider of the required equipment. GrowSafe Systems, Ltd. designed and built this equipment. Many of its parts are custom-made and are not available from other sources. Thus, the above stated vendor and manufacturer is the only source qualified to provide, install, and test this equipment. This technology is further covered under US patent numbers - 6,427,627 and 6,497,197. Therefore, there are no other suppliers which can supply components to repair, upgrade or expand the system. GrowSafe Systems, Ltd. is the sole supplier of both hardware and software for the GrowSafe existing Model 6000 series and the intended to be purchased 8000 series feed intake systems. Vendors who believe they can provide the above, are invited to submit substantiating documentation and their quote via email to John.Wilkinson@usda.gov - no later than Tuesday August 13, 2019. No late quotes or oral presentation will be accepted. Anticipated awarded date is Wednesday August 14, 2019. It is - mandatory - that all vendors submit their quotes by August 13, 2019 and make sure that that there Dun and Bradstreet Number is current and active by no later than Tuesday August 13, 2019 at the web site - www.sam.gov at Phone no. 1-866-606-8220.
