Description
OAHU RESIDENTIAL SERVICES HOMELESS VETERANS IDIQ FOR VA PACIFIC ISLAND HEALTH CARE SYSTEM QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS 36C26119Q0714 Q1. How accurate is the projected number of Veterans, since the number referred out of the VA is usually much lower? Is the number you use how many the VA treats, as opposed to how many are referred out to residential treatment per year? A. The number of veterans to be served under this contract is appropriate and is based on the need to have an on-island residential treatment option to facilitate coordinated treatment with the VA outpatient treatment team. At this time a new process for referrals to residential treatment programs has been established by the VA Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) and it will be responsible to coordinate these referrals across a number of VA programs. We are not asking the vendor to hold beds under this contract but accept appropriate referrals upon availability of beds. Q2. Can you give us an estimate for how many people will have complex patient issues? A. The primary treatment needed for veterans referred will be for substance abuse although some will be present with a dual diagnosis. It is not the intent in securing services to refer veterans who actively present with mental health issues and potentially would not benefit from the substance treatment. The Substance Abuse Treatment Team will consider this benefit to the veteran prior to making a referral. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (31-JUL-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
