Description
Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta VA Health Care System, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Stemcell Technology for the RoboSep-S is a fully automated cell separator for immunomagnetic isolation of highly purified, viable immune cells. The instrument will be used to magnetically label and separate cells by positive or negative selection from mouse splenocytes to achieve highly pure cells for analysis. This system is the only system that provides the following required salient characteristics. Fully-Automated Cell Separation System The entire cell separation protocol must be automated, with no part of the protocol manually completed outside of the instrument. This includes all antibody additions, bead labeling and wash steps. Multiple Simultaneous Separations The automated separation system must be able to do four (4) protocols at one time, including combinations of positive and/or negative selections. Column-Free The automated cell separation system must not utilize columns. Customizable Protocols The instrument must include the ability to customize your own cell separation protocols or to edit existing protocols. Sterile Operating System The instrument cannot pass cells through any universal tubing system and must use sterile pipette tips for the transfer of reagents and cell-handling. The instrument must also be able to fit in a standard laminar flow hood. Antibodies and Magnetic Beads Reagents used on automated cell separation system must be conjugated at time of separation to ensure a minimum 1 year shelf life of reagents (from DOM). Warranty of system should not be limited to strictly the beads offered by manufacturer if alternate, less expensive sources are found. No Maintenance Operation - Equipment must not require weekly maintenance, including: changing of columns, tubing, buffers or wash cycles before/after operation. This is a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Wednesday, July 31st, 12:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted.
